We waited 40 minutes in a long line but it was worth every minute. The best carbonara I've ever had, the tender meatballs in a tomato sauce were absolutely delicious. The tiramisu was perfect! The best start to a long trip to Italy.

Overall, the experience here was exceptional—it’s the kind of place I’d gladly wait in line for. Highly recommend! ⭐️ Had the opportunity to eat here while in Trastevere as part of an award-winning food tour, and it absolutely lived up to the hype 👏 When our group arrived around 7:30 p.m., the line was already a few blocks long, which made sense once we saw what came out of the kitchen 👀 We were lucky enough to bypass the wait as part of the tour, but if visiting on your own, come prepared. During the busy tourist season (July through September), we noticed people waiting with portable fans, water bottles, and even to-go cocktails—pro tips I’d recommend for anyone braving the line 💪 The highlight for me was the burrata, and it was nothing short of incredible. For anyone unfamiliar, burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream—the outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside is filled with stracciatella and cream, giving it a luscious, buttery texture that practically melts in your mouth 🤤 Growing up in Iowa, I’ve always been a cheese lover (the kind of person who ate shredded cheese straight from the bag), but I also know some European cheeses can be an acquired taste for me. Even my husband—who usually doesn’t enjoy eating cheese on its own—was savoring every bite. That’s how good it was: fresh, rich, and balanced 👌 We also tried the fried cod croquettes, which were golden and crispy on the outside with tender, flavorful fish inside 🐠 I didn’t finish mine since fried breading isn’t always my preference, but others in our group went back for seconds, which speaks to how well they were prepared. Paired with the crisp, light prosecco flowing freely during the tasting, it was the perfect start to the evening 🍾 From what I gathered, they also have an impressive wine selection and a menu full of classic Roman dishes at prices that seem surprisingly reasonable given the quality and popularity 💥 What really put the experience over the top, though, was the service. Despite the rush and the never-ending line outside, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. They took time with each table, explained the dishes, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just part of the crowd ☺️

One of the best and most authentic restaurants in Travestere for both locals and tourists alike. There is both inside and outside eating and the place gets packed, by midday when it opens there is already a queue to be seated. And there is good reason why. The food here is stunningly amazing. The menu features all the essentials and the pasta here is to die for. Very well cooked till al dente and packed full of flavour. Prices are reasonable and the waiters are attentive. The tripe was perfectly seasoned and is a real Authentic Roman dish. The Pepe pasta was yummy and portions were fair

After visiting the Vatican, we headed to Trastevere and stopped at Trattoria Da Enzo al 29, a place I had heard wonderful things about. There was a queue, but the gentleman handling the bookings was incredibly kind. Seeing we were three, he reassured us: “Don’t worry, you won’t wait long.” True to his word, within five minutes we were seated at a cozy table. We started with stracciatella, which was excellent, followed by Roman specialties: artichokes, pasta gricia, and cacio e pepe. Each dish was full of flavor, perfectly prepared, and showed why this trattoria is so loved. The highlight, however, was the tiramisu, easily the best we’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and unforgettable. To accompany everything, we enjoyed artisan beer that paired beautifully with the food. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, the service warm and attentive, and the food simply outstanding. Trattoria Da Enzo deserves every bit of its reputation — it’s a must when in Rome.

I came around 6:45pm on a Thursday night with my partner for dinner and the line was already VERY long despite a 6:30pm dinner service opening time(social media seems to have made this a very popular spot recently for tourists). We waited about an hour and 15 minutes. During that time, servers passed out samples and took drink orders while people waited in line which was very nice. We ordered the olive oil and bread, ricotta and homemade and jam and the fried artichoke. The olive oil and bread was very fresh and you could tell was made in house. Similarly, the ricotta and jam were very good as well. Only thing I would suggest is maybe a little salt for the olive oil. The artichoke was good as well. For our main courses, we ordered 2 pasta plates and meatballs. They were good as well although the bacon had a little too much fat and one of the meatballs had a piece of eggshell in it. Service was very good and the atmosphere was very lively.

Long line outside. The food was good but not worth the wait. Service was pushy and rude as they are busy. The lady asked me 3 times if I wanted water. We ordered the meat balls for 17.50 euros, their featured fettucine 18 euros which tasted like spicy Korean ramen, and the artichoke starter. I would stick to their popular items if you go.
