HONEST REVIEW. starters i had a few questions when arriving, and was greeted with annoyance. i ended up just picking just because it seemed like too much to even just discuss menu questions. we paid 52$ for saturated food that spilled not because “maybe we didn’t hold the bag right” but because their choice of to go containers MELTED ! everything was soaked. there was no napkins but the utensils and side items had to be wiped down - it was a mess to eat. the pictures were taken mostly after cleaning up. to spend that much for that? it’s a heavy no and it doesn’t matter how good the food is. hospitality is everything. even when leaving i said thank you - got no response just like when i walked in and said hello. no response. i asked for an additional bag when leaving for my several drinks & there was a crumpled bag on the counter and some fresh ones lined up on the dispenser. this lady snatched the crumpled bag and gave me that!! $50 wasted.

New Orleans is one of the greatest food cities in America, and Heard Dat Kitchen is one of the greatest restaurants in New Orleans. Portion size is big but not overwhelming. Chef said his goal is to have you feel satisfied but wanting just one more bit, and he nailed it. And despite the cheese and cream in many of the dishes, the food does not feel like a ton of bricks in your stomach.

I was told to try this place and wasn’t disappointed the girl at the counter was so helpful and patient and made jokes with me and my brother. The food did not take a long time to come out (even though we ordered a lot) the food has amazing flavor and for what it was has a reasonable price. The only thing I have to say is the red beans and rice could have a little more spice.I will definitely be coming back!

This is some of the best food I’ve ever had! Highly recommend! We had the Bourbon Street Love and Shrimp & Grits. So much flavor and worth every penny! The chef introduced himself and told us a little bit of his story, and the young lady who took our order was so sweet! Get out of the tourist trap and head to Heard Dat Kitchen!

The sign says it all...."Bestt Hole in The Wall". Essence took my order was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the Bourbon Street Love and it was incredible. Large crispy fried chicken with a lil bit of N.O. heat and seasoning, over a bed of al dente Mac and cheese in a creamy creole seasoned sauce. It was a great blend of flavors that just keeps ya nodding your head! Perfect lunch pickup! I'll be back to try more of the menu!
