Having frequented many of Europe's most distinguished dining establishments our visit to @Moshik offered a new perspective on modern, creative gastronomy. The menu, a bold showcase of seasonal ingredients and unexpected pairings, promised an evening of culinary exploration.
**FOOD**
@Moshik delivers an ambitious and highly creative menu, with each dish serving as a testament to the chef's innovative vision. The meal began with delicious, creative, and well-executed amuse-bouches. The true high point, however, was the "Caluga Caviar," a masterpiece of textures and flavors aimed at those craving deep, salty sea dishes. The brown crab and buckwheat tartlet provided a perfect, crisp base for the rich caviar, balanced beautifully with the subtle brininess of nori and Shirauta kombu. Another standout was the "Tomato merg," a dish of remarkable freshness where the sweetness of seasonal fruits and the creamy stracciatella cheese created a harmonious and vibrant dish. Another high point was the "CATCH OF THE DAY"—Turbot, expertly prepared to let its natural flavors shine, elevated by a bright passionfruit and lemon verbena vinaigrette and an impeccable sake-yuzu pilpil potato. It was a dish that demonstrated both technical precision and a profound understanding of flavor.
While the majority of the meal was exceptional, there was a single misstep. The "'LULU' CHICKEN," was well-executed and the chicken was as tender as butter, but it ultimately didn't stand out. This is a common phenomenon in fine dining, where the main course can sometimes be overshadowed by the more inventive and theatrical starters. The dinner ends with plenty of sweets and desserts reflecting the overall feel of warmth and generosity.
**SERVICE**
The service at @Moshik is a rare and welcome combination of professionalism and warmth. The staff maintains a Michelin standard for professionalism but with the warmest hospitality, creating a down-to-earth and friendly atmosphere. It feels just like having dinner at a close friend's house with the highest standards.
**MOSHIK**
Moshik was present at the restaurant, actively involved in cooking, expediting, serving, and personally engaging with each table. He came across as a warm, modest, and hardworking individual. He greeted us as we entered and said a lengthy goodbye when we left, making the interaction a true pleasure.
**WINE SERVICE**
The wine service was as professional and efficient as the general service. The sommelier listened carefully to our preferences and expertly navigated the extensive list to select a fantastic bottle that perfectly complemented the diverse flavor profiles of our meal.
**AMBIANCE**
Nestled in the beautiful Sarona in Tel Aviv, @Moshik provides a spacious and relaxing setting. The restaurant itself is elegant with sleek, modern decor designed to focus the diner's attention on the art on the plate. While I normally opt for a more private and intimate atmosphere, we were completely comfortable here.
**VALUE FOR MONEY**
@Moshik is undoubtedly expensive, but it delivers an experience that no other restaurants in Israel can provide, with the possible exception of Hiba. Given its creative and high-quality cuisine, the pricing is fittingly aligned with other Michelin starred establishments. The exceptional ingredients and masterful preparation and warm service offer an experience that feels truly worth the price.
**VERDICT**
@Moshik commitment to culinary innovation and its focus on superb ingredients make it a must-visit. The highlights of our meal were truly unforgettable, and the overall experience was unique and complete. This restaurant is truly deserving of a Michelin star.
I highly recommend @Moshik to those who appreciate a dynamic and inventive approach to gastronomy. I would definitely return for another visit, looking forward to trying the new menu.
